Essential BMX Equipment

  • At the Red Centre BMX Club, we prioritise the safety of all our riders. To ensure that you are properly protected while racing, we require that all riders wear the following protective gear: see here to see what that looks like
  • Long race pants that fit snugly at the ankle
  • Long sleeve race jersey that is fitted at the wrist and tucked into pants
  • Gloves that provide complete hand and finger protection
  • A full face helmet that covers the ears (except for Mini Wheelers). We have spares available for hire at the club
  • Fully enclosed shoes to protect your feet
  • It's important to note that for our younger riders, Mini Wheelers, a normal bike helmet is suitable instead of a full face helmet.
  • BYO Bikes: Remove mudguards, kick-stands, front brakes, bells, reflectors and other accessories
